Agreed on James Lindsay. A brilliant young man, and as far as I can tell, 100% right in emphasizing modern Gnosticism, the ur heresy.

He diagnoses correctly but does not offer solution. I propose we look to the Medici school of Plato for the beginnings of colonialism. It was these banksters who wrote/whispered the "dum diversas" which kicked off the slavery/eugenics/totalitarian pipeline. A sincere apology from Peter might go a long way.

"Wokeness" seems to me to betray an emptiness, a soul lost in a maelstrom. Following on your "we are not innocent" observations, I go back to how the Church has failed the flock for at least the last 60 years. One particular failing was the loss of religious vocations which should serve as a kind of soul of the Church. They were deliberately decimated in many cases by what I would see as similar to the wokeness idolatry we have today. Specifically, non-directive psychology was foisted on convents and monasteries by Carl Rogers. My understanding of his technique is to cause one to question every thought one has, causing doubt and confusion, even questioning one's own being. The resulting emptiness might be similar to that of the woke phenomenon. Face it, if you can't decide if you're a boy or a girl, you're lost in space without any tether. The religious who lost their Faith were similarly flailing in emptiness.

The Church has been disarmed by wolves like Rogers and cannot muster but a whimper as the deluge continually intensifies. Pray the Rosary every day.

Thanks to having been guided by my guardian to pursue the truth during ... well always, but especially ... the last three years, I was made aware of Dr. Kheriaty in early summer of 2021 when he was confronted with a the ultimate moral dilemma: to give in to coercive mandates against bodily autonomy or lose his job. I was rewarded and my position validated by a person I grew to admire. It was through this same guidance, by way of Dr. Kheriaty, that I discovered your terrific piece, "We Are Not Innocent". I printed it and shared it with a couple ladies from my Catholic study group - with highlights and margin notes! I have also listened to the 2-part discussion on the same topic.

I am grateful that you have a substack. I make very infrequent passes by First Things since they stopped public comments a few years back; I find comments to be tremendously helpful, informative and a good way to gauge my own opinions and it is very off-putting to have to pay to have an opinion. The Lindsey video you linked above (which, actually, Mr. Farrow, is not obvious the way you have it embedded) has been showing up on my youtube feed since it was released a few weeks ago. I had chosen to ignore it because, well, to be honest, I thought Mr. Lindsey - while initially, when he came to our attention - showed promise and then I got an uncomfortable vibe from the struggle session between the Darkweb and the Conservatives about him. I thought I'd let him grow up a bit. But, upon your recommendation I will give him a listen. An perhaps get back to you if I think I have anything to add.

Thanks—I've fixed that and one other ambiguity.
