According to the lead author, “the result means that regardless of what pathogen or what presenting symptom there is no evidence from high quality studies that either medical or surgical masks make any difference to transmission, which is the whole point of wearing or not wearing a mask or any of these other interventions like hand-washing.”
Then again, perhaps it’s not the whole point, which, if not medical, must be political, as the same expert implies. And, if political, then manipulative and a breach of trust.
Can we expect the administration to acknowledge this and to show at least a little penitence, which would also be appropriate from MAUT? What the Cochrane review confirms was already known at the time and pointed out at the time, as you will recall from previous correspondence. The precedent set in our own university (unscientific procedure, false claims, unreasonable demands, etc.) must be addressed and overturned.
One notes that there are still lost souls wandering about in the unhealthy and antisocial face coverings in which you taught them to trust.
Thank you, sir. Your bravery in the face of tyranny is inspiring. I’ve tried finding you on other social media to show my support. I may not be a professor at a prestigious college, but I know an incredible leader when I see one and you, sir, are just that. I humbly urge you to quietly determine which professors in your community agree with you and I more than humbly urge you to take action with your peers, not for yourself, but for all of us who don’t have such a powerful and educated voice. Individuals such as yourself are exactly what we need to fight back against this, quite frankly, bullshit that looms over every one of our lives. Thank you, sir. God bless you. I praise the Lord for sending you to this realm in such a time as this.
The Truth well written. I am truly grateful and heartened by your steadfast position during this constitutionally illegal and dark time. May the force of all that is good and right and just, continue to flow through you, so that these shallow and yellow and academically entitled individuals might raise their game and exhibit the requisite level of INTEGRITY, so sadly lacking in all of this.
Thank you, I no longer mask myself in church and by Gods grace many other no longer do it as well. It is a breath of fresh air to smile at others, for them to read my face and know me, to sing before God unmasked, to no longer be hidden and isolated in my mind by the mask. In Christ, Taylor.
Thank you professor. It is quite rare to encounter McGill students/professors who oppose the vaccine and/or its mandates. I appreciate your bold and well-written response to their emails and you standing up against this.
On 7 February 2023, I sent this gentle reminder to the Administration that there is unfinished business to be taken care of. No reply so far...
Dear colleagues,
After unusual delays, a Cochrane review reconfirms that masking, along with other A122 interventions, is not medically useful against respiratory viruses: https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD006207.pub6/full

You are blinding them with transparency! Very Good! Right beside you!
