What I'd add is that satan surely danced at the foot of Calvary's cross that first Good Friday, and would have had his ultimate "lost weekend"on the Saturday, pre dawn on the Sunday too?
If ever this was to be his world in toto, then that would have been the time.

You can count on this: the future and inevitable community of a higher Order will interfere in the internal life of communities of a lower order, and not only interfere but control. And not only in the communities lower in the order, but in the members of all such communities. We can look forward to an autocratic hierarchical Order that will be a global authority. We can also look forward to expropriation of everything we now consider ours: our thought will be expropriated by AI, as will our procreative sexuality by alphabet-soup sensuality, our identity by digitized social credits, and our individual health status by One Health. We will be denied the option of having a self. In exchange for all this expropriation, we will be given a cross of anonymity to bear and be obliged to follow those higher in the Order. There will be individuals, of course, who willingly deny themselves and take up their cross of anonymity by their own choosing.
This will come about in part because, as you pointed out, Maoist tactics are being used to capture the youth. A key Maoist tactic is to turn away from contemplating the works of classical thinkers like Augustine and Farrow and turn toward a way of doing that excites, such as tearing down monuments, cancelling historical figures and bullying those to be excluded from a diverse, equitable, inclusive community. Young people will turn their backs to erudite substacks and turn their faces to slogan-style twittering from Mao’s red book. They will be easily manipulated.
Our resistance as old people who can remember the way we were is a lost cause.
